Paddle Barbados opened in March 2012 and has grown significantly since then. SUP has taken off around the world, and it was time for Barbados to join the fun. Paddle Barbados is bringing SUP to life on the island, as we build a fun and inviting SUP Community for locals, tourists, and anyone looking for an adventure and/or workout on the water.
`Most of our instruction is done in beautiful Carlisle Bay. The bay offers easy access to crystal clear, calm blue waters and light offshore winds. It’s an ideal location for our first time paddlers. Not only is the bay perfect for learning, but it is also one of the most beautiful paddles on the island. Some of the highlights are sunken ships that are clearly visible in the clear water of the marine park, curious and friendly sea turtles and unique views of our capital Bridgetown.
For our more advanced riders, we offer distance SUP on the south and west coasts. Paddling on the west coast (aka “The Platinum Coast”) offers views of the luxurious lifestyles of the rich and famous, and the beautiful sandy coves and shallow coral reefs that dot the shore. On the south coast of Barbados, wind-assisted SUP journeys with wave riding give you a taste of the thrills that SUP has to offer.
In the water we apply what we have learned on the land. Close contact with the instructor ensures everyone’s safety. Once all paddlers are competent we head across the bay on a 2k paddle with your instructor closely monitoring and correcting SUP techniques. You will be well on your way to being “Paddle Fit” with our SUP lessons and tours.

Night Paddle
We push off with the setting sun and paddle into the night. The cool evening sea breezes make paddling easy and the water catches the light, sounds and smells of the land. We paddle among the anchored boats in Oistins and move quietly up the coast to Freights. Our last stop is Surfers Bay for a cold drink and a delicious meal. A truly unique experience.
